Granulomatous infection

1-TB can reaches the brain through hematogenous spread.
2-It affects the three area of the brain which are meninges, brain parenchyma and ventricles.
3-TB meningitis cause more thickened lesions than that of the bacterial meningitis +tuberculoma of the brain parenchyma.
4-Tuberculoma(less than 1 cm) has a classical appearance known as button hole (similar to abscess but small in size) with thickened wall and less surrounding edema, this may form an abscess if enlarged (more than 1 cm) in patient with decreased immunity which is known as tuberculous abscess.
5-The presence of this abscess with other tuberculomas making it a tuberculous abscess and not a pyogenic abscess.
