ADAM

Acute demyelinating encephalomyelitis (ADEM):

1-Demyelinating lesions seen through out the white matter.
2-No mass effects(to differentiate between it and other causes giving the same picture as infarction).
3-This lesion is diagnosed by clinical manifestation where the patient should has a previous history of vaccination days(7-10 days) before affection or influenza attacks.
4-Radiological appearances as the usual in encephalitis ( non specific ).
5-In the past, it is called as a monophasic disease if comes, it will be for once, nowadays it is considered to be multiphasic as MS.
6-It is a treatable type of encephalitis which regress by treatment.
