Granulomatous infection

1-Predisposing factors for TB infection:
-IV drug abuse.
-Immune compromised state.

2-Imaging findings:
 -Meningitis.
-Encephalitis.
-Tuberculoma or abscess.
-TB meningitis is characterized by large areas of enhancing meninges, and the presence of tuberculomatas in the brain may confirm diagnosis.
Tuberculoma(less than 1 cm ) has a characteristic appearance which is Button Hole which is like a small abscess with very thick wall and surrounded by small amount of edema.
If tuberculoma grows to become more than 1 cm, it will be a TB abscess. So the presence of an abscess with tuberculoma suggests that this abscess is tuberculous in origin.
